Data Analysis of Virus Hepatitis in Weidu District of Xuchang City from 1999 to 2008

[Objective] To understand the epidemiological characteristic of viral hepatitis in Weidu district of Xuchang city,provide scientific basis for making and adjusting prevention and control strategies.[Methods]Viral hepatitis epidemic data in Weidu district from 1999 to 2008 were analyzed.[Results]3 685 hepatitis cases were reported from 1999 to 2008,the yearly average morbidity was 101.65/100 000,and the morbidity increased year by year from 1999 to 2005,while it decreased year by year from 2006 to 2008.The yearly average morbidity(/100 000) of hepatitis A,hepatitis B,hepatitis C,hepatitis E and unknown type was 4.03,78.84,13.93,0.71 and 5.77 respectively.It was 123.16 in male and 79.74 in female(P0.01).The yearly average morbidity(100 000) was 23.60,57.82,112.61,107.90,128.88,146.49,107.99,135.22 and 101.55(P0.01) in the people aged from 0-9,10-19,20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,60-69,70-79 and over 80 respectively.The epidemic peak of viral hepatitis,hepatitis B,hepatitis C and unknown type hepatitis was general while the epidemic peak of hepatitis A and hepatitis E was from February to April.[Conclusion]The epidemic trend of viral hepatitis in Weidu district increased,the prevalence of hepatitis A decreased,hepatitis B and hepatitis C increased.
