Abstract

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of naloxone on newborn infants with respiratory failure. Methods: On the basis of routine therapy, the average doses group were treated by 0. 4 mg naloxone with 10% GS 120 ml ~ 150 ml with intravenous dripping for 3 ~ 5 days; the large doses group with naloxone by 0. 05 ~ 0. 1 mg/kg with intravenous injection every two hours and decreasing the doses till 8-12 hours, While the controls were treated with routine therapy. Results: The effective rate of intravenous on newborn infants with respiratory failure was 92. 62% in the large doses group comparing with 52. 10% and 53. 72% in the average group and the control group, both P 0. 01. Conclusion: There significant therapeutic effect in newborn infants with respiratory failure who were treated by large doses of naloxone, without any side - effect being seen.
