Protective effect of puerarin on skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve of limb of rat with ischemia reperfusion injury

Objective To investigate the protective effect of puerarin on skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve of limb of rat with ischemia reperfusion injury.Methods 30 healthy female SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: puerarin injected + operated(P group);NS injected + operated(N group);NS injected + sham operated(S group).To injecte medicine into the abdominal cavity respectively before operation.After the establishment of the limb ischemia reperfusion rat model.Each group was observed by measuring the concentration of SOD and MDA in the blood serum operation,2 h and 4h after operation respectivly.The histomorphology of skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve of limb with ischemia reperfusion were observed under transmission electronic microscope at 4 h and 48 h after operation respectivly.Results The concentration of SOD in the blood serum of the P group shows low,the level was higher than the level of the N group(P0.05).The concentration of MDA in the blood serum of the P group shows higher than S group(P0.05),but the level lower than the N group's.The histomorphology of skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve of P group show pathologic changes were worse than S group but better than N group.Conclusion Puerarin injection has the protection efffect on skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve of the limb of rat with I-R injury.
