Abstract

To discuss the difference and significance of platelet count, blood platelet count(PLT) and mean platelet volume(MPV) from patients with liver cirrhosis after hepatitis B and patients with alcoholic cirrhosis.PLT and MPV of peripheral blood from 40 normal controls,58 patients with liver cirrhosis after hepatitis B and 44 patients with alcoholic cirrhosis were analyzed with the coulter automatic blood corpuscle analysator(STKS).And PLT and MPV from patients with haemorrhage and without haemorrhage were compared. The level of MPV from patients with liver cirrhosis after hepatitis B was lower than that from the normal group(P0.01 and P0.05).The levels of PLT and MPV from the patients with haemorrhage were distinctively lower than that from patients without haemorrhage(P0.01 and P0.05).It showed that PLT and MPV might be one of the important indexes on estimating bleeding tendency of patients with liver cirrhosis. The change of the MPV from patients with the cirrhosis after hepatitis B and patients with alcoholic cirrhosis was different, which reflected the reason of hematoblastic reducing. And it might be important to the patients with liver cirrhosis and hematoblastic reducing on determine whether to choose splenectomize.
