TWO NEW SPECIES OF OPISTHORCHIIDAE FROM SOUTHEASTERN HUBEI, CHINA

Two new species of the family Opisthorchiidae herein described were collected from Southeastern Hubei. Type specimens are deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Tongji Medical University. The description of these two new species is given below. All measurements are in mm.1. Metorchis elongata sp. nov. (fig. 1) Host Viverra zibetha.Location Bile duct.Date December 13,1965.Locality Shuaizhou village, Yangxin county (29.81°N, 115.07°E)Body elongate, 7.121×0.711. The width-length ratio 1:10.1. The cuticular spines between oral sucker and acetabulum are sharp-pointed, 0.0147-0.0165×0.0041-0.0048. Oral sucker 0.266-0.299×0.296-0.349. Pharynx 0.061×0.058. Oesophagus 0.168-0.189. Acetabulum 0.252-0.296, located at the anterior third of body. Testis round, tandem, anterior 0.609-0.614×0.664-0.533, poterior 0.686-0.697×0.614-0.686. Ovary round, 0.266-0.315×0.237 -0.315, in front of the anterior testis. Vitellaria lateral, continuous, running from one third between intestinal bifurcation and acetabulum and reaching in the level of ovary. Uterus in between acetabulum and ovary. Eggs 0.0241×0.0137 in average.2. Amphimerus tongshanensis sp. nov (fig. 2) Host Trionys sinensis.Location Bile duct and intestinal tract.Date August 13, 1982.Locality Hengshen county, Tongshan Town (29.55°N, 114.74°E).Body 12.599×0.979. Oral sucker 0.199×0.183. Pharynx 0.099×0.083. Oesophagus 2.352-2.64.3. Intestinal crura rather heavy, reaching to the end of body. Acetabulum 0.382, round, located at a fourth of the body. Testis round, diagonal, away from each other, in the hind third of the body. Ovary 0.349×0.415, oval, in front of the anterior testis. Seminal receptacle large, closely behind ovary, 0.332, Laurer's canal short. Vitellaria distributed from 1.82 mm behind acetabulum to between ovary and anterior testis, with 7-8 clusters on each side. Uterus running from posterior of acetabulum and reaching to the end of the body. Eggs 0.021-0.025 × 0.011-0.015.
