Abstract

Because English and Chinese are of different families, more attention should be focused on the real meaning and poetic flavor instead on the form in poetry translation. This paper probes into the basic problems of poetry translation from the perspective of the nature of poetry. It also tries to expound and verify that Huang Gaoxin's Emulation Method in E-C translation lacks adequate theoretical foundation and the application of it to English-Chinese poetry translation is far from satisfactory.
