Abstract

The synthesis of 4-chlorobutyryl chloride was described using γ-butyroctone as material, anhydrous zinc chloride as the catalyst and thionyl chloride as chloridum. The reaction principle is expounded, and the main factors affecting the reaction are investigated.Optimal conditions were obtained as follow:reaction temperature is 55℃,reaction time 22 h and percent amount of catalyst 3%~5%.The yield of the product is 82.7% under the optimal conditions.
