Abstract

OBJECTIVE To discuss the effect of compound Geshanxiao granules on gastrointestinal motility and its mechanism action. METHODS The effect of compound Geshanxiao granules on intestinal propulsive activity of mice was investigated by using atropine sulfate to inhibit the intestinal propulsive activity.observing the compound Geshanxiao granules the effect of compound Geshanxiao granules on the contents of model rats nitrogen oxide(NO) in gastric mucous membrane;on the level of rat blood gastrin(GAS) and motilin(MTL) was observed by using clipping tail stimulation method to produce rat functional dyspepsia model. RESULTS Compound Geshanxiao granules could apparently increase mice intestinal propulsive activity, significantly decrease the contents of NO in gastric mucous membrane, and increase the contents of GAS in serum and MTL in plasma of functional dyspepsia model rats. CONCLUSION Compound Geshanxiao granules can improve mice intestinal propulsive activity. It perhaps facilitates intestinal activity and ameliorates intestinal function by decreasing the contents of NO in gastric mucous membrane and elevating the level of rat GAS in serum and MTL in plasma.
