Abstract

Projective To discuss the indications of acupuncture and moxibustion and how to fully carry forward the advantages of acupuncture-moxibustion treatment in general hospitals. Methods The types of diseases, the methods of and the effects of acupuncture-moxibustion treatment were analyzed in 429 (person-time) inpatients for whom acupuncture-moxibustion consultation treatment were requested. Conclusion The application of acupuncture-moxibustion therapy in general hospitals makes up for shortcomings in modern medical treatments and its effect can not be replaced by those of other treatment. Only promotion of exchange and cooperation with the departments of Western medicine and Western doctors helps to develop acupuncture-moxibustion acupuncture-moxibustion science.
