Abstract
Objective To investigate the protective effect of Gnaphalium tranzschelii Kirp.against carbon tetrachloride-induced acute liver injury in mice. Methods The acute hepatic injury model was prepared by the subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride in mice. The activities of ALT and AST in serum, the content of MDA and the activity of GSH-Px in liver cell were investigated by colorimetric method. Results The extract of G.tranzschelii significantly decreased the levels of ALT and AST in serum and the content of MDA,but elevated the activity content of GSH-Px in liver. Conclusion G.tranzschelii extract can prevent the acute liver injury induced by CCl4 in mice through its antioxidation.
