On Cultivated Land Protection and Food Security in China

The cultivated land resource related to the national economic development,the social stabilization and the food security.Especially for our country,whose economy was increasing at very fast speed,the inconsistency between human and land was very obvious,and every inch of land seemed to be so valuable.Based on the analysis of the cultivated land area changing between 1997 and 2005,this paper concluded that the cultivated land resource in our country was decreasing and the main reason was the cultivated land reduction for reforestation and non-agricultural purposes.The decrease of the cultivated land resource gave birth to the changes of total output and single output most,and multi-cropping index was also one of the reasons for the production.Besides,this paper analyzed the immanent relationships between the cultivated land protection and the food security,and put forward the measure which was suitable for the sustainable use on cultivated land resource and the food security.
