The study on the locations of newborns' venous indwelling needle

Objective To research the suitable location of newborns' vein indwelling needle in order to reduce pain of babies and improve the nursing quality.Methods The object was 191 cases with venous indwelling needle and different locations of the scalp,armpits,upper and lower limbs.The different indwelling time on the different locations was observed and analyzed.Results The time of venous indwelling needle on the axillary vein was(104.06±25.94) h.There was significant difference on the indweeling time of axillary vein with that on scalp vein,armpits vein,upper and lower limbs vein(P0.05).Conclusion The most suitable indwelling location of venous indwelling needle on newborns was axillary vein.
