Changes of Cardiovascular Disease Related Cytokines in Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome

Abstract

Objective:To detect the changes of cardiovascular disease related cytokines in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS). Methods:There were three groups of subjects involved in this study.OSAHS group,n=56;Snoring group,n=10 and Control group,n=30.The serum levels of pro-inflammation cytokines including IL-1β,IL-18,anti-inflammation cytokine IL-10,soluble CD40 ligand(sCD40L) and insulin-like growth factor-2(IGF-2) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Results:IL-18,IGF-2 and sCD40L were significantly higher and IL-10 was significantly lower in OSAHS group compared with both Snoring group and Control group(P0.05),IL-1βwas not significantly changed among different groups(P0.05).In OSAHS group,IL-18 was positively related with the apnea hypopnea index(AHI) and the longest apnea time(Tmax)(r=4.873, r=1.863,P0.0001).IL-10 was negatively related with AHI and Tmax(r=-0.906,r=-0.608,P0.0001).IGF-2 was positively related with AHI(r=0.261,P=0.016) and negatively related with SaO2min(r=-5.147,P0.0001).sCD40L was positively related with AHI(r=0.039,P=0.001). Conclusion:The unbalance of cardiovascular disease related cytokines was found in OSAHS patients.
