Outside Great Powers' Intervention in South China Sea Dispute and Its Influences on China's Territorial Sovereignty Safeguard

Since the end of the Cold War,outside great powers have been strengthening their intervention in South China Sea issue one after another.Among them,the influences from the United States,Japan,India and Russia are the most significant.A large number of book chapters and articles have discussed their intervention in South China Sea issue respectively,but few scholars have compared their intervention methods and objectives.This paper compares the intervention methods and objectives of the United States,Japan,India and Russia,then analyzes the possibility and ways that they and ASEAN joined together to counterbalance China on South China Sea issue,and gives some proposals on how to response to outside great powers' intervention.
