The Analysis of Challenges of China Facing the South Sea Issue

Abstract

In recent years,the Southeast Asian countries invaded and occupied the islands of the South Sea,plundering its oil and gas resources,which is a serious challenge to the principle of sovereignty belonging to me,shelving disputes and seeking joint development the Chinese Government has consistently adhered to in resolving territorial disputes with neighboring countries.Meanwhile,the South Sea Issue has become increasingly internationalized and complicated on account of the intervention of extra-regional powers such as the United States,Japan and India.On the South Sea Issue,the challenges faced by China is becoming even more severe,which is including that China unilaterally shelves the sovereignty disputes,whereas relevant countries exclude China to carry out the predatory development of resources in the South Sea;that the Southeast Asian countries concern potentially about the China's rise,which makes China's good-neighborly foreign policy encounter an inextricable position;etcetera.In view of the above-mentioned challenges,the author attempt to make several suggestions for China in order to resolve the South Sea Issue.
