On Inspiration of “Harmony”Thoughts of Ancient China to the Contemporary Era

Abstract

The harmony culture has a long history in China. Established in the pre-Qin period,the theoretical system firstly reveals the harmony of natural law which shows how to deal with the relationship between human and nature. The law of nature-human integration in traditional China has made great contributions to the world. Secondly,the system advocates the harmony of politics which is used to depict an ideal society; it therefore has become an understandable social ideal for people. Thirdly,it shows the interpersonal harmony which plays a significant role in interpersonal relationship. Getting along well with others but holding his own views differentiates a gentleman from a villain. The idea that Harmony is most preciousprovides an appropriate way in coping with interpersonal relationships. Finally,it states the harmony between body and mind; the harmony conveys a balance between body and mind and the high-point of inherent virtue.
