Abstract
Objective: To analyze and evaluate a long-term curative effect of nasal continuous positive airway(pres-)sure(nCPAP) in treatment of patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) accompanying hypertension. Methods: all 58 confirmed diagnosis out-patients or in-patients with OSAHS were monitored Hor decub(H.D) minimal arterial blood oxygen saturation of the anterior to,the period of nCPAP therapy and after a long-term nCPAP therapy, the blood pressure before bedtime or in the morning, hypoventilation index, apnea index, respiratory disturbance index and the longest apnea time(second). Results: After the treatment of 6~36 months we stopped using nCPAP therapy, the 58 patients with OSAHS were monitored poly-somnography(PSG) and found that every above-mentioned index was significantly improved. The patients were also able to have good tolerance to it.Conclusion: Long-term nCPAP therapy may evidently improve the sleep quality of patients with OSAHS and correct night hypoxemia and the hypertension accompanied by curing OSAHS.
