Abstract
Objective To study the serum lipids levels of obesity children and to provide data for early prevention of cardiovascular heart disease in children. Methods A total of 3 000 obese children according BMI were sampled at random from the children's growth and development surveillance data in a district of Beijing, and fasting serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and serum glucose(GLU) were assayed. Results The average glucose and serum lipids of the obese children were at normal level,however,58% of them were not all normal and 33.8%of them had at least two abnormal indicators. The abnormal rates of FPG,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C were 11.0%,39.1%,17.7%,4.2% and 17.8%,respectively.Level of FPG and TC,abnormal rates of TC and HDL-C were statistically significantly higher in male obesity children(P0.05),and level of HDL-C was statistically significantly higher in females(P0.05).Rank correlation was found between BMI and numbers of abnormal indicators by Spearman Rank Correlation analysis(r=0.144,P0.01).Conclusion The higher abnormal rate of glucose and serum lipids increase the clustering of children's risk factors on cardiovascular diseases.
