Cultural Perspectives on Euphemism Phenomenon

Euphemism is a general language phenomenon and more of a cultural phenomenon. This paper analyzes the structural motives, structural ways and structural characteristics. The study on euphemism phenomenon helps to cultivate the consciousness of cross cultural communication and avoid pragmatic errors. To use euphemism correctly and appropriately, it is suggested not only to master its characteristics, the background of its use, expressing ways and application scope but also to learn the different cultural customs and the differences of different societies and cultures.
