Abstract
Euphemism is a genre of linguistic interactions that often emerges in daily conversations. From the perspective of psychological linguistics, this paper aims to probe into the social mentalities involved in the process of using euphemism. The paper analyzes the political and historical reasons that have brought about euphemism. It holds that the proper use of euphemism will successfully achieve our aim in communication.
