Expression of Maspin in 65 Cases with Breast Cancer and its Significance

[Purpose] To investigate the expression of Maspin in breast cancer and its clinical significance.[Method] The expression of Maspin in 77 cases(12 cases with benign breast lesion and 65 cases with breast cancer) with mastopathy tissue was detected by SP immunohistochemical method,and its clinical significance were analyzed.[Results] Positive expression rate of Maspin was 100% in 12 benign breast lesions and 30.8% in 65 cases with breast cancer,with significant difference(P0.01).The expression of Maspin in breast cancer was related to ER,axillary lymph nodes metastasis,histological grade and histological type.Spearman rank correlation analysis showed Maspin expression was negatively correlated to axillary lymph nodes metastases,clinical stage and histological grade.Logistic multivariate regression analysis suggested that axillary lymph nodes metastases,clinical stage and histological grade were the influencing factors of Maspin positive expression(P0.05).[Conclusion] Maspin protein can be used as a referred index for endocrine therapy,malignant transformation,metastases,and prognosis evaluation in breast cancer.
