Abstract
Objective To reduce the misdiagnosis of Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis. Methods Five cases of Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis were analyzed. Results Five cases of Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis were all misdiagnosis before operation. One was performed radical nephrectomy, one was performed partial nephrectomy and the other 3 were performed total nephrectomy. Conclusion Lacking of knowledge of the disease might be the main cause of misdiagnosis. It was suggested that clinical doctors should improve the knowledge of this disease.
