Endoscopic sinus surgery in children with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps

Abstract

【Objective】To explore the treatment of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps in children and its curative effect.【Methods】The clinical data of 37 children(58 sides) with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were analyzed.All 37 cases underwent nasal endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS).The postoperative follow-up time was 0.5-1 year.【Results】Of the 37 patients,25 cases(67.57%) were cured,11 cases(29.73 %) were improved,and 1 cases(2.7%) did not have improvement.【Conclusion】ESS has good outcome in children with chronic sinusitis and polyps.Surgical intervention is a safe and effective treatment with little invasion.
