Clinical analysis of operative treatment of sinusitis, nasal polyps under nasal endoscopy (A report of 88 cases)

Abstract

[Objective] To assess the effect of endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) in the treatment of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. [Methods] The clinical data of ESS on 88 cases (149 sides) of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were analyzed retrospectively. [Results] 50 cases (56.8%) were cured, 32 cases (36.4%) were improved and 6 cases (6.8%) were ineffective. The total effective rate was 93.2%, and all the cases were followed up for 6~12 months. [Conclusions] ESS is effective in the treatment of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. And it can be combined with sinuous surgery or/and septal operation at the same time.
