Abstract
Objective To assess the treatment outcomes of eye acupuncture in managing primary dysmenorrhea.Methods 110 patients with primary dysmenorrhea were randomly divided into two groups.60 patients in the treatment group were managed by eye acupuncture,and 50 in the control received Ibuprofen(slow-release capsule) for treatment.3 menstrual cycles made up a treatment session.Result At the end of the 3rd month after the first treatment session,it showed significant differences in comparison of recovery and total effective rates between the two groups(P0.05).The comparison of relapse rate made at the end of the 6th month after the first treatment session also showed significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Eye acupuncture is a convenient and effective approach in treating primary dysmenorrheal.
