Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of carvedilol on the heart rate variability in patients with unstable angina pectoris. Methods Totally 102 cases of unstable angina pectoris were randomly divided into carvedilol treatment group(52 cases) and control group(50 cases),of which were given conventional therapy, while the treatment group were given carvedilol tablet on the basis of conventional drug therapy. The treatment course of 2 groups were 6 months. The angina attack,ECG,the incidence of cardiovascular events and the change of heart rate variability indicators were observed before and 6 months after treatment. Results After 6 months treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(90.4%vs 64.0%,P0.05).The parameters of heart rate variability in the treatment group were significantly improved, which compared with before treatment and the control group(P0.05,P0.01).The incidence of cardiovascular events was significantly lower than that of the control group in the 6 month period(11.5%vs.36.0%,P0.05).Conclusion It demonstrated that the carvedilol for treatment unstable angina was safe and effective, with improving the heart rate variability and reducing the incidence of cardiovascular events.
