Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of carvedilol on heart rate variability (HRV) in angina patients. Method 120 patients with angina pectoris were randomly divided into two groups. 58 patients were in the control group with routine therapy; 62 patients were in the carvedilol group with routine and carvedilol therapy. Every patient received Holter examination before and 2 weeks after the drug administration, and the HRV parameters were analyzed. Result HRV parameters changes improved significantly after treatment (P0.01). Carvedilol group had much more progress than control group (P0.01). Conclusion Carvedilol can effectively improve HRV in patients with angina pectoris.
