Abstract
A strain of microbial flocculant-producing bacterium was isolated from sludge of polluted river bank,Microbial flocculants produced by this bacterium was applied to flocculate the Kaolin clay suspension. The three influence factors on flocculating effect was studied, which includes the initial pH of suspension, the amount of MNb-1 and the amount of cation flocculation accelerator. The test showed that the initial pH of suspension had almost no effect on flocculating effect,While the amount of MNb-1 and the amount of cation flocculation accelerator could influence the flocculating effect greatly. The best flocculating rate of MNb-1 against Kaolin clay suspension was 92.1%.
