Clinical study of intra -articular injections of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Objective: To assess intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods: 60 cases who met the criteria for knee osteoarthritis were received the treatment of intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate,once a week for 5 consecutive weeks.Data of pain and ability of movement in all patients were collected before and after treatment.Results: The cases and the percentages of clinical remission,markable effect,effect and invalid were 18 cases(30%),27 cases(45%),9 cases(15%),6 cases(10%),the efficacy rate was 90%.No serious toxic or side effect was observed during the period of treatment.Conclusion: Intraarticular injection of sodium hyaluronate satisfactorily benefited the patients with knee osteoarthritis without any servious side effect,so the method is wothy of application and popularization.
