Utilization of Narcotic Analgesics in Our Hospital During the Period 2002～2008

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the status and tendency of the utilization of the narcotic analgesics in our hospital.METHODS:The narcotic analgesics used in our hospital from 2002～2008 were analyzed statistically with regard to the consumption sum and DDDs.RESULTS:The consumption quantity of the narcotic analgesics increased year by year.The intermediate-acting narcotic analgesics were the highest in annual growth rates and growth extent of the consumption sum and DDDs.The narcotic analgesics with potent efficacy showed the highest proportion in terms of consumption sum and DDDs,whereas the consumption quantity of Morphine were decreasing year by year every since 2006.CONCLUSION:The utilization of narcotic analgesics in our hospital during the period 2002～2008 was somewhat irrational.
