Clinical Observation on Compound Berberine in Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Objective To observe the curative effects of compound berberine in treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.Method 136 cases with irritable bowel syndrome were divided into two groups randomly with 68 cases in each group,the treatment group received Berberine,Birid Triple Viable,Pinaverium Bromide and Doxepin,while the control group received all of the above excepted Berberine for two weeks.Results The statistics showed a significant higher therapeutic effect in treating group than that of the control group,P0.01,There is a statistical significance.Conclusion Compound berberine is effective in treatment of irritable bowel syndrome,which should be suggested in clinical experiences.
