Abstract
Objective To investigat the expression of CD133 in hepatocellular carcinoma and its relationship with clinical pathological features.Methods The expression of CD133 was detected in 84 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma,40 cases of normal liver tissue by Envision immunohistochemical staining.Results The expression of CD133 in the HCC tissue was significantly higher than in normal liver tissue(P0.05).Increased CD133 expression levels were correlated with elevated serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP) levels,pathological grades,the clinical stages,liver cirrhosis,tumor thrombus(P0.05).There was no significant relation between the CD133 expression of HCC tissues and clinicopathological features such as age,gender,tumor size,tumor encapsulation(P0.05).Conclusion The hyperexpression of CD133 in tissue can reflex the biological behavior of HCC and CD133 have very important role in the development of HCC.
