Analysis of Death Data among Residents in Weifang City from 2007 to 2008

Abstract

[Objective]To understand the proportion and main causes of death among residents,to provide scientific evidence for making health development plan and policy.[Methods]Death data among 3 081 residents in Shouguang and Gaomi city(at county level) from December 2007 to May 2008 were analyzed.[Results]Of the 3 081 death cases,male accounted for 55.24%,while female accounted for 44.76%.62.12% of the death cases were reported in Shouguang while 38.79% were reported in Gaomi.Death cases aged from 70-89 years accounted for 58.78%(1 811cases).The first 3 leading death causes were circulatory diseases(44.14%),respiratory diseases(21.81%),malignant tumor(17.14%).[Conclusion]Circulatory,respiratory diseases and malignant tumor were the main causes of death among residents in Shouguang and Gaomi city.
