Abstract

We describe the basic principle and application prospects of a new type of solar cell, dye sensitized nanocrystalline thin film cells, which are quite different from traditional P-N junction solar cells. They are easy to produce, and with further improved efficiency and lower production costs promise to rival current amorphous silicon solar cells.
