Abstract

Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the influence of the recombinant lactofrrin on the interleukin-1 and interleukin-2 in serum of weanling pigs.90 weanling piglets of 28 days of weanling age were blocked by weight and allotted to three dietary treatments and fed for thirty days. The dietary treatments were:A.basal diet,B.basal diet+20 mg/kg flavomycin+110 mg/kg chlortetracycline,C.basal diet+730 mg/kg rPLF.In experiment 1,Duroc×Landrace×Jia piglets were used.In experiment 2,Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire piglets were used and separated into two stages. The first stage was from 1 to 15 days, the second was from 16 to 30 days after weanling. After feeding trial, three gilts whose weight were close in each treatment were slaughtered. The level of interleukin-1 and interleukin-2 in serum were determined. The results showed that in contrast with control, the level of IL-2 in experiment 1 increased by 46.64% with rPLF (P0.01),and the level of IL-2 in serum in the two stages of experiment 2 increased significantly(P0.05).The level of IL-1 also increased but not significant difference in statistics in the two experiments. The two experiments indicated that diet with rPLF increased the level of IL-2 and IL-1 in serum, and enhanced the immunity of the weanling pigs.
