The Reform of English Teaching in Non-English Majors of Higher Vocational Colleges

This paper makes an inquiry into the English teaching of higher vocational and analyses the present condition of English teaching.It' s not satisfying and need imperative reform.English teaching in non-English majors of higher vocational colleges should be in accordance with the teaching objective of higher vocational education and should take into account the characteristics of the students.and we should change the teaching ideas as quickly as possible,probe into the characteristics of vocational education,reform the teaching pattern in class,change the textbooks,improve the quality of teachers,focus on fostering of the teachers,and advocate the student-centered teaching model so as to create a good English learning environment and achieve the goal of communicating in English.
