Abstract

Objective:To investigate the changes of physiological functions in perimenopausal women with depression via comparing and analyzing the changes of sex hormone levels before and after treatment. Methods:Perimenopausal patients with the age of 40 to 54 yrs from the outpatient clinc were assessesed by Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Depression Status Inventory(DSI).Four kinds of serum sex hormone level of perimenopausal women with depression, women with symptom improvement after treatment, normal women in perimenopausal period and normalwomen in reproductive age were tested by chemiluminescence method. Results:Singificant difference were showed in serum E2,FSH,LH,P among the group of perimenopausal women with depression, normal women in reproductive age group, normal perimenopausal group(P 0.01).6 months later after treatment,Serum level of E2,P were significantly higher, while FSH,LH levels were significantly decreased.Compared with normal permenopausal group,E2,FSH,LH,P levels all showed no statistically significant difference(P 0.05).Conclusions:Endocrine disorder was caused by decreas of E2 and P,increase of FSH and LH,and sex hormone dysfunction, which is important factor leading to depression for perimenopausal women.
