Abstract

Preparation of ethylbenzene with ethylene in dry gas by catalytic rectification process over zeolite β was studied. Effects of technological parameters on the alkylation were investigated. Preferred operating conditions were: ethylene WHSV ≤0 25 h -1 , feed mole ratio of benzene/ethylene≥4, pressure≥1 5 MPa and temperaure 150~180 ℃. Conversion of ethylene was over 96% and selectivity of ethylbenzene was over 94%. Moreover, dimethylbenzene was hardly found in the product.
