Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical value of plasma BNP and high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) detected in chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods Sixty-five patients with CHF(NYHA class Ⅲ to Ⅳ)(CHF group) and 33 healthy cases(control group) were selected. The plasma BNP and hs-CRP were detected in CHF patients before treatment and when the heart function was improved to class ⅠtoⅡ and in control group. Results The levels of plasma BNP and hs-CRP in CHF patients before and after treatment were significantly higher than those of the control(P 0.01).Compared with before treatment, the plasma BNP and hs-CRP in CHF patients decreased obviously after treatment(P 0.01).The levels of plasma BNP and hs-CRP in heart function class Ⅳgroup were significantly higher than those of class Ⅲgroup before and after treatment(P0.01).Conclusion The levels of plasma BNP and hs-CRP in CHF patients are correlated with severity of cardiac dysfunction.Moving observation of plasma BNP and hs-CRP have some clinical value for judging the severity and assessing the therapeutic effects.
