Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Baitouweng Decoction and Erxian Decoction in treating lower urinary infection of postmenopausal women. Methods 104 subjects were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group in which 52 cases were treated with Baitouweng Decoction and Erxian Decoction and control group in which 52 cases were treated with sensitive antibiotics. They were treated for two weeks and surveyed for three months. Results The total effective rate was 94.2% in treatment group and 76.9% in control group, P 0.05; the follow-up survey showed recrudesce in 3 cases in treatment group and 37 cases in control groups; the clinical effect was better for downward damp-heat syndrome, especially in treatment group. Conclusion Baitouweng Decoction and Erxian Decoction is quite effective for lower urinary infection of postmenopausal women.
