Abstract
Objective:To explore the curative effect and influence on glucose and lipid metabolism of olanzapine with different doses in patients with schizophrenia.Method:Ninety-six patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into olanzapine low dose group(50 cases,10 mg/d)and high dose group(46 cases,10 mg/d).The assessment of positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) was preformed, the body mass index (BMI) was measured and the blood glucose and blood lipid were detected before treatment and after 2,4,8 weekends, respectively. After 8 weeks, curative effect was evaluated. Results:The reacting time and the curative effect in the two groups were no significantly difference.Compared with before treatment, the level of total cholesterol in lower dose group was significantly increased (P0.05);BMI,the levels of blood glucose and blood lipid in high dose group were significantly increased at 8 weeks after treatment(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion:In the therapeutic dose range, olanzapine with low does or high does can make equal reacting time, curative effect and affecting blood lipid metabolism in patients with schizophrenia;High dose is more obvious influence on blood sugar and blood fat metabolismcan.
