Analysis of Immunophenotyping in Acute Leukemia in 53 Cases

Abstract

Objective To study the feature of immunophenotype in acute Leukemia (AL). Methods Immune phenotypes were assayed in 53 patients with acute Leukemia by flow cytometer. Results All 20 AML patients expressed myeloid markers, of 7 expressed Lymphoid antigens CD7 or/and CD19. Twenty eight of ALL expressed Lymphoid antigens, of 16 expressed one or two myeloid antigens, for example CD13, CD33, CD15. Of 4 ALL cases only expressed myeloid markers (three of them were ALL2,one of them was ALL3).Two cases were hybrid acute leukemia that expressed more markers of both Lymphoid and myeloid origins. Conclusion Leukemia cell has heterogeneity. Leukemia immunophenotype could define some particular types of Leukemia M_0 AMLL with an important value in diagnosis, treatment and predicting prognosis. Immunophenotype is an important supplement to the diagnosis and typing of the acute Leukemia on the base of the morphology and cytochemistry.[JP]
