Abstract

In this paper, the promoter of AHA1 gene from Arabidopsis thaliana was isolated and sequenced as a fragment of 813 bp.To explore the expression pattern, the promoter of AHA1 gene was transcriptionally fused with the GUS reporter gene. The promoter-GUS fusion gene was introduced into A.thaliana by Agrobacterium- mediated transformation, and transgenic plants were obtained.Histochemical analysis of AHA1 promoter-driven GUS in transgenic A.thaliana showed that AHA1 gene expressed in the vascular tissues of root, leaf, stem, flower and silique.Furthermore, expression intensity varied with different growth stages. The above results suggest that AHA1 gene was probably associated with regulation of growth and response of plants to environ- mental stress.
