Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of laser in situ keratomileusis(Lasik) on low, moderate and high myopia using a scanning spot excimer laser. Methods 1238 patients(2418 myopia eyes) were divided into 3 groups: group I(-0.75~-6.00)D,group Ⅱ(-6.25~10.00)D,group Ⅲ(-10.25~-21.00)D.All the patients were followed up for 1 year in visual acuity, refractive status, complication and eccentric ablation.Schwind Esiris,a scanning spot excimer laser was used. The flap was performed with the Moria microkeratome. Results 91.1%,84.9% and 52.0% had vision of 1.0 or better in the 3 groups one day after operation;96.2%,93.0% and 84.2% had vision of 1.0 or better in the 3 groups at 3 months. The rate of postoperative uncorrected visual equal or better than the preoperative corrected visual acuity was 91.7% at 6 months.Refractive degree was stable from 1 to 3 months. Conclusions The results of myopic treatment by using a scanning spot excimer laser are satisfactory.Uncorrected visual acuity recovers fast and no eccentric oblation, central islands formation and irregular astigmatism are found.
