Abstract
Objective To study the expression of p53 and 14-3-3crin the chronic cervicitis, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer. Methods Immunohistochemical staining SP method and RT-PCR were used to detect the expression of p53 and 14-3-3o~ in 20 cases of the chronic cervicitis,75 cases of the CIN(25 cases of the CINI,25 cases of the CINII and 25 cases of the CIN III),and 30 cases of the cervical cancer. Results The expressions of p53 in chronic cervicitis were not detected. The expressions of p53 in cervical cancer were significant higher than that in intraepithelial neoplasia(P 0.05),but the expressions of 14-3-3σin cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer were significant lower than that in chronic cervicitis(P 0.05).Further study showed that there were associations between their expressions and cell differentiation in cervical cancer(P 0.05),but not in the surgery-pathological stage(P 0.05).There were significant differences between the expression of p53 and 14-3-3σin cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer(P 0.05),but the differences among the expression of p53 and 14-3-3σin the three degree of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia were not significant (P 0.05).Negative correlation was also found between p53 and 14-3-3σexpression(r = -0.533,P 0.05). Conclusion Abnormal expression of p53 and 14-3-3σmay contribute to the pathogenesis and development of the cervical cancer. Therefore 14-3-3cr maybe an important suppressor fat-tor in the carcinogenesis and development of cervical cancer.
