Expression of Cdk4 in cervical carcinoma and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia

Objective To investigate the expression of Cdk4 in the occurrence and development of cervical neoplasma.Methods Cdk4 expression was determined by immunohistochemical staining in 141 cervical specimens(chronic cervicitis,19;low degree of intraepithelial neoplasia,15;high degree of intraepithelial neoplasia,41;invasive cervical cancer,66),and its positive rate and staining intensity were analyzed.Results Cdk4 expression rates in chronic cervicitis,low and high degree of intraepithelial neoplasia,and invasive cervical cancer were 21.1%,46.7%,73.2% and 92.4%,respectively.The positive rate and staining intensity of Cdk4 in cervical cancer were significantly higher than those in other lesions(P0.01).Conclusion The expression of Cdk4 is upregulated in cervical cancer,which might be related to the occurrence and development of cervical tumor.
