Observation of Curative Effects of Atorvastatin in Patients with Cholesterol Below The Target Level and Unstable Angina Pectoris With Type 2 Diabetes

Objective To observe the clinical curative effects and blood lipid change of atorvastatin in patients with cholesterol below the target level and unstable angina pectoris with type 2 diabetes.Methods Divide fifty-seven type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with unstable angina pectoris and blood cholesterol below the target level[low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C)2.07mmol/L]into two groups.Patient in treated group(n=29)took orally atorvastatin(20mg)once a day.Patient in control group(n=28)had the same treatment as in treated group with the exception of taking orally atorvastation.Routine treatment of unstable angina pectoris and glucose-lowering medicine treatment were provided for all the patients.To observe the curative effects of unstable angina pectoris and electrocardiogram and changes of blood lipid after eight weeks of the two groups.Results Curative effects of unstable angina pectoris and electrocardiogram in treated group was significantly increased compared with control group after eight weeks(P0.05).LDL-C level in treated group was significantly decreased and had a significant difference compared that of pretherapy(P0.05).The treated group also had a significant compared with the same period of control group(P0.05).Conclusion Atorvastatin could significantly improve the curative effects of unstable angina pectoris and electrocardiogram in patients with cholesterol below the target level and unstable angina pectoris with type 2 diabetes and could also reduce blood cholesterol in patients with blood cholesterol below the target level.
