Abstract
Objective To assess the clinical value of 16-slice CT angiography in emergent surgical clipping of intracranial aneurysms. Methods 3 patients with intracranial aneurysms were included in the study and successively underwent 16-slice CTA examination. Using maximum-intensity projections and volume-rendering techniques,neuroradiologist performed the morphology,size and location of the aneurysms,neck geometry,and the relationship of aneurysms to bone structures and adjacent branch vessels. Emergent surgical procedure based on 16-slice CTA images. Results The 16-slice three-dimensional images clearly provided the location of aneurysms,the size of the sac and the neck,and the relationships between aneurysms and parent arteries,and the information would help the neurosurgeons find the aneurysms and clip them successfully. Conclusion Sixteen-slice CTA is an accurate and noninvasive imaging examination for the diagnosis of intracranial aneurysms,and it can provide sufficient diagnostic information in guiding the emergent surgical clipping of aneurysms.
