Analysis on Industrial Structure and Competitiveness of the Manufacturing Industries in Pearl River Delta

This paper does a positive research on the manufacturing industries of the Pearl River Delta based on the data from 2004 to 2008.Using the Dynamic Shift-Share Method,the author analyzes the 30 specific industries inside the manufacturing industry from the perspective of industrial structure and competitiveness and pointed out their status quo,then put emphasis on the reasons from the aspects of industry characteristics,industry isomorphism and technology innovation.Furthermore,the author analyzes the superior and the inferior industries of this region.At last,some recommendations on the choice of the leading industrial and the optimization of the industrial structure and competitiveness are put forward.
