Abstract
Tao Yuanming had potential to be a good poet of landscape;however,the main idea in his poems is his reflection on life,his understanding of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in practice.The awareness of unalienated relationship of I and substance made him refuse to regard landscape as an aesthetic target and refuse to write landscape poems.
